Land Engineering Defined Health and Safety Objectives
1. Accident Frequency Rate
Zero tolerance to the incidence of Reportable Incidents, Accidents, Dangerous Occurrences and Occupational Disease achieving a rolling Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) of 0.4 or less.
2. Public Utility Damage
Zero tolerance to the incidence of avoidable damage to Public and Private Utilities through incidents or unsafe acts of excavation achieving a reduction of 75% or more over the period September 2008 to August 2010 from 39 strikes to 10 strikes or less per annum.
Committed to investigate all unavoidable utility damages, engaging with utility providers at a senior level, to review outcomes and prevent similar recurrences.
3. Property Damage
Zero tolerance to all forms of property damage through unsafe acts or incidents achieving a reduction of 25% or more to August 2009 from 108 to less than 80 incidents and a further reduction of 50% or more to August 2010 to less than 40 incidents per annum.
4. Manual Handling Incidents/Accidents
Zero tolerance to unsafe acts, incidents and accidents as a result of inappropriate manual handling activities achieving a reduction of 75% or more over the period from September 2008 to August 2009 from 20 to less than 5 incidents per annum.
5. Motor Accidents
Zero tolerance to motor accidents as a result of Land Engineering’s activities through unsafe acts and incidents achieving a reduction of 75% or more over the period September 2008 to August 2009 from 62 to less than 16 accidents per annum.
Committed to fully investigating the cause of Third Party damage against Land Engineering vehicles, to identify trends and develop improvements to protect the safety and health of our employees.
6. Slips, trips and falls
Zero tolerance to unsafe acts, incidents and accidents to our employees and third parties as a result of slip, trip and falls achieving a reduction of 75% or more over the period September 2008 to August 2009 from 14 to less than 4 incidents per annum.

Commitment to introduce recognition schemes which reward exceptional Safety and Health performance at:
