Our brief was to construct all external soft landscaping areas around the new hospital development. This included 18 high quality internal courtyards, incorporating both intricate hard and soft landscaping.
Activities
- In consultation with other parties, we overcame a number of difficulties, including co-ordinating access and cranage for construction works within the internal courtyards.
- To allow planting works to continue without delay regardless of inclement weather and ground conditions, we ensured that preparation works were protected immediately from the weather, in particular snowfalls and frost.
Outcome
Close working relationships with the management contractor and landscape architect ensured that the works were performed in a co-ordinated and effective manner.
The works were completed within the contract period and within the management contractor’s cost forecast, enabling this medical facility to be commissioned promptly.
