Scotland Transerv

Our task here is to deliver pre-planned and reactive grounds maintenance and arboricultural services to the North West Trunk Roads Network covering over 1,400 kilometres of road. The contract area covers the North West Region of Scotland and its key arterial transport links, such as the A9 and A82.

Activities

  • Our service delivery centres on ensuring the functionality of the road network and associated safety, while embracing those sites of significant scientific interest such as Loch Lomond National Park and The Glencoe and Rannoch Moor SSSI – proving our ability to manage highly sensitive environmental issues.
  • Core work includes grass cutting to road verges in line with high amenity, amenity and low frequency specifications; herbicide application to hard surfaces; production and implementation of an injurious weed management plan in conformity with the Government’s herbicide reduction strategy; planned and reactive maintenance of trees and scrub, and fencing.
  • Additional works include the design and build of many network landscape improvements, ranging from small soft landscaping projects to civil engineering works.

Outcome

Our proactive regionalised management structure ensures the continuing development of long-term maintenance strategies and environmental management plans, encouraging best value and practice in all activities.
