We delivered backcourt redevelopment works at Byres Road in partnership with Partick Housing Association Limited. The aim was to create a clean and safe environment for residents of the surrounding tenement properties.
Activities
- Existing bin stores were demolished and hard surfaces excavated.
- High quality hard and soft landscaping areas were formed and new refuse and recycling facilities constructed.
- Turfed drying green areas were created and fencing erected to reclaim the backcourt.
Outcome
Three trainees were selected and recruited through our partnership with Glasgow North Limited. They were then mentored towards attainment of SVQ Level 2 in Civil Engineering. Each trainee has secured permanent employment with Land Engineering.
We maintained close liaison with residents and local businesses throughout the project, which achieved a successful result.
