Below is a selection of case studies which highlight the work Land Enginering has done in the Contaminated Land Remediation field.
Burnhill Open Space is a public park in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire. Constructed on upfilled ground, probably a former tip, the park was contaminated with heavy metals, with a particular area demarked by Chromium VI contamination.
King George V Playing Fields were identified as an area within Council ownership that needed remediation before the development of an amenity facility.
The site occupied by Muirend Playing Fields was impaired by historical chromium contamination, after decades of indiscriminate disposal from local chemical works.
The Summerford site had been occupied historically by a number of potentially contaminating industries, including chemical works, iron works, munitions store, pre-cast concrete works and a spoil heap.
Clydebank Re-built is an organisation dedicated to regenerating Clydebank. The Hospital Gate project is one of many in this continuing development. The main element of the works entailed developing a 14 hectare site at the riverside for office premises and associated businesses, together with a new access road.
